What's up Windy City!

November already?! Time flies… Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, the New Year, all of it. Will be here before you know it. In the meantime, we’ll just continue exploring, having adventures, getting JACKED out of our mind...and livin’ BIG. Be sure to check out the announcements below. We’re really excited for December 10th. Going to be a big day...Real BIG. As well, we’ve got a new AOM that we’re excited to feature; a preview of some new gear coming; and the return of a brutal conditioning challenge. It’s all below. Check it!

  • Save the Date: Dec. 10th! Barbells For Boobs + Windy City Anniversary Party
    Did you know you have plans on Dec. 10th? If not, mark your calendar. We’re crushing a team workout in the morning—and in the process raising money for Barbells For Boobs. Then…we're throwing down a killer party at Matilda from 8pm–late to celebrate the holidays and nine years in business for Windy City.

  • Join Our Barbells for Boobs Team
    We are well on our way of hitting our goal of $5,000 raised for Barbells For Boobs. If you haven't joined our fundraising team yet, get on it and start fundraising! We have a chance to be the top fundraising affiliate in the state of Illinois! #winning

    We are asking that everyone interested in participating in our FREE workout on Dec 10th please donate to our team page. Remember to sign up for a heat online through Zen Planner. Friends and family are more than welcome to participate as well and their donations will also be greatly appreciated.

    We've also crafted up some special T-shirts for this inaugural event! If you'd like to purchase a T-shirt, we will be accepting pre-orders until Nov 21st. You'll have 2 colors to choose from. We will have the shirts available on Dec 10th for purchase as well, but if you'd like to guarantee your shirt size and color your best option will be the pre-order!

  • Yoga is Back
    10am on Sundays, Danielle Malaty will be offering a 60 min restorative yoga session in the back room. Bring your own yoga mat. We estimate space for about 15 people so be sure to come a bit early if you want to check out her class. This will be a free class to all Windy City members. Let's get flexible.

  • Windy City Gift Certificates
    Mom called and asked what you want for the holidays. You had no ideas until now. Gift certificates are now available at the front desk in $25 increments. You can put it on your list or give the gift of livin' BIG.

  • November Supplemental Conditioning Challenge: Prowler Challenge is back!

“When I first came to WCSC, I was very much intimidated and wanted to be like the people I saw doing pull ups, running, jumping on boxes, sweating, and doing stuff with barbells. I imagined all the things I had to do to be like them: perfect diets, perfect body, confidence, strong lungs, etc. For someone with no athletic background, and 60+ pounds to lose at the time, it was really an intimidating place for me. Sure enough, I learned that I was comparing my insides to their outsides. I started meeting people from the WCSC community and learned we had a lot more in common than I thought...”

Here's a list of what we're loving and learning this month:

  1. Justin: Book I'm reading
    The Inevitable is a fascinating and profound book that's making me think (a lot) about what is to come. 
  2. Tony: How I'm recovering
    A mix of ROMWOD and Compex Edge. Using one of these tools at least once a day has helped me be ready to attack my workouts everyday.
  3. Sheena: Food delivery service I'm loving
    Eat Purely—5 dinner options available for pre-order or set delivery times. "Macros" included. I ordered about 4-5 times and have loved every meal so far. 
  4. Ox: App I'm loving
    Headspace—A self guided meditation app.10 minutes of relaxation you can do on the train, in the morning or before going to bed.
  5. Eloise: Two words that have been key to my life lately
    Do I strive to be disciplined or diligent?
